• Founding Partner

    Laurent spent several years in the financial services and investment management industry based in Luxembourg, the UK, the US and Switzerland. During his career, he focused on acting as an advisor to European UHNWI, as well as corporations and governments, while working for Warburg Bank and family offices in Europe. Laurent is a guest lecturer at the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg School of Business and the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. He is a member of the Royal Yachting Association and the Estonian Autosport Union.

    After his studies at ESCP Europe in Paris, London, and Berlin, Alain joined the Oil & Gas Department of UBS Investment Bank in London. He after that spent his career in various operational roles, managing and restructuring mid-size businesses. He was also active in multiple investment companies focusing on private equity, energy, and real estate. Alain co-founded a couple of investment funds and a start-up in the real estate field.

    Quentin worked in the Corporate Venture Capital department of Encevo, a utility based in Luxembourg, and invested in early-stage cleantech companies. He joined the department from scratch and was actively involved in its creation and development. He holds a Master in Management specializing in Finance from ESC Rennes School of Business. Quentin is a certified Skiing Instructor from ESF (École de Ski Français).

    After working in Luxembourg's banking sector, Luc moved to Zurich, where he spent over two years working for Aquila Capital's investment management team in the Energy Transition sector. He holds a Master's Degree in Financial Economics from Maastricht University School of Business and Economics.

    Václav Audes specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, joint ventures, pharmaceutical and healthcare law, and transport (particularly aviation) law.

    In the area of mergers and acquisitions, he has advised both sellers and buyers, strategic and financial investors, and has also advised clients on the formation of joint ventures and restructurings of groups of companies (including transformations), primarily in the sectors pharmaceutical and healthcare, transport (mainly aviation), media and telecommunications, clean tech, internet trading, and FMCG.

    Martin Vogel is Senior Advisor to the Waystone Group. He previously served as Waystone’s Global Head of Strategy and CEO Europe, and prior to this as Chief Executive Officer of MDO Management Company. As well as being active in all aspects of the business, Martin provided MDO’s clients with advice on product structuring, cross-border distribution strategy and product development. Under his leadership, MDO Management Company developed into one of Luxembourg’s leading independent third-party management companies prior to it becoming part of the Waystone Group in 2020.

    Martin is a Swiss attorney-at-law and an alumni of IMD and INSEAD. In 1996, after having worked as a lawyer specialising in banking and finance law, he joined Bank Julius Baer & Co. Ltd., where his final role was Managing Director and Member of the Executive Management Committee of Julius Baer Asset Management in Zurich. After leaving the Julius Baer Group in 2008 to pursue his own professional career he took on the role of CEO at MDO Management Company.

    Martin Vogel is active in fund associations is a regular speaker at international fund conferences.

    Marc Schmitz is a former partner and board member at Ernst & Young (EY) in Luxembourg. He spent more than three decades advising large multinational clients on cross-border corporate investment and financing projects. In addition to his client work, he served as EY's tax and policy leader, representing the firm in various public tax working groups. He was a certified accountant and a member of the Ordre des Experts-Comptables, and authored numerous articles, books and other publications on Luxembourg and international taxation. Marc also served as a board member and treasurer of the Luxembourg branch of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and has been a frequent speaker at international tax conferences.

    President of Estonia, Mr Toomas Hendrik Ilves acquired his education in the United States – he graduated from Columbia University in New York City in 1976 and received his Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania in 1978.  In 1984 he moved to Europe, to work at the office of Radio Free Europe in Munich, Germany, first as a researcher and foreign policy analyst and later as the Head of the Estonian Desk. From 1993 to 1996 he served in Washington as the Ambassador of the  Republic of Estonia to the USA and Canada. During this time he initiated with education minister Jaak Aaviksoo the Tiger Leap initiative to computerize and connect all Estonian schools online. From 1996 to 1998, he was Minister of Foreign Affairs. After a brief period as Chairman of the North Atlantic Institute in 1998, he was again appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, serving until 2002.  From 2002 to 2004, Mr Ilves was a Member of the Estonian Parliament; in 2004 he was elected a Member of the European Parliament, where he was vice-president of the Foreign Affairs Committee. As a MEP, he initiated the Baltic Sea Strategy that later was implemented as official regional policy of the European Union. He was elected President of the Republic of Estonia in 2006 and then re-elected for a second term in office in 2011. During his presidency he has been appointed to serve in several high positions in the field of ICT in the European Union. He served as Chairman of the EU Task Force on eHealth from 2011 to 2012, and since November 2012, at the invitation of the European Commission, he became Chairman of the European Cloud Partnership Steering Board.

    Etienne is the former Deputy Prime Minister (from 2013), Minister of Economy (from 2012), Minister of Health (from 2018), Minister of Internal Security and Minister of Defense (from 2013) of Luxembourg. He held those various positions between 2012 and 2020, being a member of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP). He has previously filled several positions as a senior civil servant, such as a research assistant at the European Parliament in Brussels, economist for the LSAP parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies and project leader with NATO in Brussels. He also served as a government advisor responsible for various Directorates. Etienne has a degree in commercial and financial sciences from the Institut catholique des hautes études commerciales (ICHEC) in Brussels and Greenwich University in London (1995).

    Lubomír is the Vice-chairman of the Supervisory Board of COLT CZ Group, he served as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Colt CZ Group from 2018 to July 2021. His journey began in the Army Air Force, reaching the rank of lieutenant before shifting to management roles in 1995 with Aulis, and later advancing to CEO at Škoda Praha, with further contributions at Eltodo EG and Mavel. His academic background includes a graduation from the Military Air Force University and an MBA from Sheffield University.

    Yves Elsen is a Luxembourgish professional with over 40 years of experience in executive leadership, corporate governance, and entrepreneurship, particularly within the space and metal industries.

    He has held prominent roles in the space sector, including a position as a member of the management committee at SES S.A. (1986–2001) and as CEO of HITEC Luxembourg S.A. (2004–2023). Currently, he chairs the Luxembourg-based startup Lift Me Off Sàrl, which focuses on situational space awareness. Additionally, he is the founding chairman of GLAE, the Luxembourg Space Group under FEDIL. Since 2021, Yves has served as an independent director and Audit Committee member of Ardagh Metal Packaging S.A., a New York Stock Exchange-listed company in the metal industry. His leadership also extended to Villeroy & Boch AG, where he was the Chairman of the Supervisory Board until December 2019.

    Colonel Jean-Louis Nurenberg, born in Luxembourg in 1956, joined the Luxembourg Army in 1976 and holds a degree in social and military sciences. Over his career, he held various key roles, including National Military Representative to SHAPE, Luxembourg Military Representative to the EU, and Head of Mission for EUSEC RD Congo. He has significant international experience, including involvement in NATO, WEU, and EU military operations. Since 2023, he has served as Senior Military Advisor to OAVERT and Advisor to HYNAERO. He is fluent in Luxembourgish, German, French, and English.
